Note: Contact a local or state military installation for the proper Colors, National Anthem and Pledge of Allegiance presentation. Use military personnel when possible.

Prayer for the Nation and State

 

"Prayer for America" Everyone
(Contact www.ndptf.org or (719) 531-3379 for the prayer) Note: Everyone pray aloud the "Prayer for America". This prayer establishes a common focus as you move into a time of prayer.
Executive Branch  Representative for Nation and State
Note: The speaker for this section should talk shortly about the needs of national and state leaders and the issues they face. This person should be a civic leader who can personally speak to these issues. (less than 5 minutes)
Pray for Executive Branch   Christian leader from the Community
Posture of prayer: Kneel-symbolically to humbly ask God for His blessing
Congress  Representative for Nation and State  
Note: The speaker for this section should talk shortly about the needs of national and state, congressional leaders and the issues they face. This person should be a civic leader who can personally speak to these issues. (less than 5 minutes)
Pray for the Congress  Christian leader from the Community
Posture of prayer: Join hands – symbolically for the unity of "One Nation Under God"  Patriotic Medley Worship Team
Judicial Branch Representative from Local Judicial Branch
Note: The speaker for this section should talk shortly about the needs of national and state judicial leaders and the issues they face. This person should be a civic leader who can personally speak to these issues. (less than 5 minutes)
Pray for the Judicial Branch  Christian leader from the Community
 Posture of Prayer: Raise Hands – Symbolically as the judge asks witnesses to do
Military Representative from Local Military Installation
Note: The speaker for this section should talk shortly about the needs of national and state military personnel and the issues they face. This person should be a civic leader who can personally speak to these issues. (less than 5 minutes)
Pray for the Military Christian leader from the Community
Posture of Prayer: Lay Hands – Ask for all U. S. Military personnel to stand and be recognized. Audience is asked to lay hands on military personnel and pray for them.

Note: A local minister or Christian leader should ask everyone to pray in small groups for each of the centers of power, giving a brief explanation of why we should pray for each one. Use music to help transition between prayers.
